We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Practitioner to join our team at the University of Minnesota Neurosurgery department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide neurosurgery care for pediatric inpatients and outpatients, and adult outpatients at the University of Minnesota Medical Center-West Bank location.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Nurse Practitioner training program or a graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program. You will work closely with academic neurosurgeons and experienced Advanced Practice Providers, caring for pediatric and adult patients with a diverse range of neurosurgical disorders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive health care services to patients, including physical and psychological health assessments, patient education and counseling, orders and interpretations of diagnostic procedures, and management of acute and chronic disease conditions.
  • Work collaboratively with licensed physicians to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Engage in independent decision-making about health care needs and provide health care services to pediatric and adult individuals throughout their lifespan.

Requirements

  • Current MN RN license and approval or eligibility by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges or a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice.
  • Certification through ANCC/AANP or eligibility for ANCC/AANP national exam or through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
