About the Role:
At DIG Chefs-In-Training, we're on a mission to revolutionize the food industry by empowering the next generation of chefs. As a Grill Cook, you'll be part of a dynamic team that's passionate about serving real, good food. Our scratch-based kitchens are built around people who share our enthusiasm for culinary excellence.
Your Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including vegetables, proteins, and grains, using recipes as a guide and your own taste buds for validation.
- Gain exposure to different stations within the DIG kitchen, including garde manger, grill, roast, market line, guest concierge, and delivery/packout.
- Engage with guests to discuss current menu offerings, seasonality, and ingredients, making their dining experience even more enjoyable.
- Support the team during peak and off-peak service by pitching in wherever and whenever necessary.
- Multi-task and move efficiently in the kitchen for extended periods, meeting the physical demands of the role.
- Maintain the highest standards of food safety and quality, adhering to Department of Health and DIG guidelines.
- Demonstrate professional maturity and uphold DIG's anti-discrimination and anti-harassment policies.
- Contribute to a positive work environment, knowing that you're part of a bigger mission to rebuild the food system.
Your Qualifications:
- A genuine passion for real, good food and a desire to learn and grow as a culinary professional.
- The ability to demonstrate a strong work ethic and execute tasks efficiently.
- The physical ability to perform the demands of the role, including lifting up to 25 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with colleagues and guests.
- A team-oriented focus, with a deep appreciation for the people you work with and a commitment to supporting the restaurant's success.
- A desire to create exceptional employee and guest experiences, with an eye for detail and a willingness to solve challenges.
- A growth mindset, eager to develop your skills and contribute to the success of our brigade.
