Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor II to join our team at the County of Mendocino, CA. As a key member of our Substance Use Disorder Treatment department, you will play a vital role in providing professional counseling services to individuals struggling with substance abuse and addiction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to clients with substance abuse and addiction issues
  • Develop and implement treatment plans tailored to each client's needs
  • Conduct assessments and make referrals to related programs or services
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of client progress
  • Participate in team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment plans
Requirements
  • Associate's degree or equivalent in Social Work, Mental Health, Counseling, or a related field
  • Current enrollment in a State-approved AOD Certification program or certification from a California ADP-approved certifying organization
  • Two years of experience providing professional substance abuse counseling treatment services
  • Valid Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual English/Spanish
  • Experience working with diverse populations and age groups
  • Knowledge of modern methods and techniques used in substance abuse and addiction therapy
