Aerial Lineman

We are seeking a skilled Aerial Lineman to join our team at Ervin Cable. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for installing and repairing aerial telecommunications cable, ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of our services.

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
• Safely use hand tools and equipment, including wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, and more
• Safely operate mechanized equipment, such as bucket trucks, digger derricks, and excavators
• Set up safety perimeters using signage, cones, and safety barriers
• Flag traffic when required
• Understand separation and clearance regulations
• Safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• Maintain safe working habits and conditions according to all regulations, procedures, and policies

• Be at least 18 years old
• Be authorized to work in the United States for Ervin Cable
• Pass a DOT physical exam and hold a valid medical card
• Hold a valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License
• Have previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry
• Have knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques
• Be able to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet
• Be able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction, including pole transfers, maintenance builds, new builds, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction
• Be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 75 lbs as needed with or without assistance
• Be able to work over-time, after hours, on weekends, for emergencies, or on-call
• Be able to maintain a safe work environment
• Be able to work in all weather conditions
• Be able to travel when travel is required
• May have experience splicing of active & passive equipment
