At LADGOV CORPORATION, we are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Animal Medicine Specialist to join our team.

Role Summary

This is a part-time position that requires the ability to provide routine and emergency veterinary medical and surgical care for laboratory animals. The successful candidate will work closely with our Attending Veterinarian to maintain detailed animal records, ensure compliance with animal welfare laws, regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Additionally, this role involves conducting animal research protocol and amendment reviews, consulting on protocol development, and providing ongoing support for animal research.

Main Responsibilities
  • Veterinary Care: Provide routine and emergency veterinary medical and surgical care for laboratory animals.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain detailed animal records and ensure compliance with animal welfare laws, regulations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Research Support: Conduct animal research protocol and amendment reviews, consult on protocol development, and provide ongoing support for animal research.
Requirements
  • Education: Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an AVMA-accredited college of veterinary medicine.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years full-time experience as a laboratory animal veterinarian or board certification in laboratory animal medicine.
  • License: Must possess and maintain a current, active, valid, and unrestricted Veterinary license from the state of Georgia.
