Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pulmonology Specialist to join our team at Saint Luke's Hospital of Duluth. As a critical care doctor, you will provide comprehensive care for patients with a wide range of respiratory conditions, from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) to pneumonia and lung cancer.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat patients with respiratory conditions using a variety of diagnostic and therapeutic techniques
  • Prescribe medications and develop treatment plans to manage patient symptoms and improve quality of life
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support to patients and their families
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest medical research and advancements in pulmonology to provide the best possible care for patients
Requirements
  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Completion of an accredited residency program and fellowship program in pulmonology
  • Current or pending license in Minnesota and/or Wisconsin to practice as a physician
  • Current Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Public Safety (DPS) registration for prescription writing in Minnesota and/or Wisconsin
Preferred Qualifications
  • Board eligible or Board certified in pulmonology
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of current principles and techniques of physician practice
  • Ability to function as a team leader, primary provider, and role model
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, personnel, and other physicians
Working Conditions

Regularly exposed to the risk of blood-borne diseases; contact with patients under a wide variety of circumstances; exposed to unpleasant elements (accidents, injuries, and illness); subject to varying and unpredictable situations; handles emergency or crisis situations; may perform emergency care; occasionally subjected to irregular hours; pressure due to multiple calls and inquiries.
