Job Summary

Pike Electric, LLC is seeking a highly skilled Substation Technician to join our team. As a key member of our construction, repair, and engineering services team, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of substation equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair substation equipment and systems, including high-voltage transformers, circuit breakers, and switchgear.
  • Work safely in confined spaces and at heights up to 125 feet above ground.
  • Operate a variety of heavy equipment, including bucket trucks, backhoes, and excavators.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of projects.
  • Develop and interpret material lists, and trace out phasing in substations.
  • Coach subordinates on the crew and provide guidance on technical situations.
Requirements
  • Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
  • Ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds and work in confined spaces.
  • Knowledge of construction standard practices, techniques, quality requirements, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Ability to work independently or with others, and to travel up to 90% of the time.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
