We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Companion Animal Medical Specialist to join our team at The Asher House LLC. As a key member, you will be dedicated to the well-being and health of our rescued animals. Your role will involve providing medical care, daily enrichment, and ensuring the overall welfare and safety of the animals under your supervision.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist with feeding, watering, medicating, and providing enrichment activities for the animals
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of animal housing areas
- Monitor animal health and behaviors, and implement safety protocols and procedures as needed
- Supervise animals to ensure their well-being and provide overnight care when required
- Keep supplies organized and assist with the intake process
- Act as a compassionate representative of The Asher House LLC
- Perform medical assessments and provide treatments as needed
- Administer medications and injections, and work with the veterinary team on treatment plans
- Maintain detailed records of observations and interventions, and generate reports on medical and behavioral changes
- 3-5 years' experience working with companion animals
- Strong knowledge of medical and veterinary care, including animal behavior and positive reinforcement techniques
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
