Role Summary and Qualifications

The Nurse Coordinator (CNC) is responsible for ensuring and delivering exceptional, patient-centered care and coordinating all activities within the unit/department during their assigned shift. Collaborating with other management team members, the CNC directs, monitors, and evaluates nursing care in line with established policies and procedures, serves as a resource for staff, and exemplifies a commitment to the organization's vision, mission, and values to enhance patient experiences and clinical outcomes that contribute to overall departmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the admission and discharge processes to promote efficient patient flow and high-quality, patient-centered care.
  • Engage in the continuous assessment of the quality of patient care services in collaboration with other management team members.
  • Work with subject matter experts and other managers to foster a teamwork environment that enhances outcomes and service delivery.
  • Uphold a patient-first philosophy and engage in service recovery when necessary.
  • Support facility engagement initiatives by implementing current nursing strategies, including employee rounding and hourly rounds.
  • Provide input on interviewing, selecting, and training new staff. Recommend and implement actions related to training and development, conflict resolution, personnel policy compliance, performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions to ensure organizational excellence.
  • Assist with staff scheduling and manage labor resources in accordance with patient care needs and established productivity standards.
  • Oversee inventory control and assist in managing supplies and equipment.
Required Qualifications:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse license.
  • Associate Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Registered Nurse Diploma.
