Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Preschool Classroom Support Specialist. This role will provide opportunities to work in a model laboratory school setting, assisting the teacher in the classroom with all aspects of routines.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the teacher to design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum, support the teacher in modifying curriculum and lesson plans as needed, and maintain necessary educational materials. They will also welcome families into the program, communicate with them about children's activities and progress, and support college students' professional development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the teacher to design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum.
  • Support the teacher in modifying curriculum and lesson plans as needed.
  • Maintain necessary educational materials to attract and keep children's interests.
  • Welcome families into the program on a daily basis and communicate with them about children's activities and progress.
  • Support college students' professional development through modeling and supportive interactions.
  • Act as a teacher in the teacher's absence.

The estimated salary for this position is between $17.00-$19.00 per hour, depending on the highest degree achieved. The University of Saint Joseph offers a competitive benefits package and a dynamic work environment.
