Key Responsibilities

- Engage in all stages of product development, from initial concept to final launch.
- Lead and coordinate a team of product evaluation test engineers and scientists.
- Collaborate closely with global scrum teams to create testing materials that ensure software products align with specifications.
- Execute testing of Enterprise software applications within an Agile development framework.


- Develop and adhere to Test Plans and Test Cases, establish pass/fail criteria, document issues, and verify defect resolutions.


- Contribute to the design, development, and implementation of new software products, as well as the enhancement of existing solutions.


- Communicate project status and challenges to various functional teams, collaborators, and management.


- Facilitate the resolution of obstacles to maintain the efficiency of the product evaluation team.


- Oversee the testing of software products and their documentation.


- Evaluate and confirm the completeness of requirements.


- Author project documentation and status reports.


- Participate in project planning and progress monitoring.


Qualifications

Education:
- BS in Computer Science; MS in Chemistry/Bioinformatics; Ph.D. in Chemistry or related fields is preferred.

Experience:
- 5+ years of laboratory experience with Thermo or competitor software testing scientific software or experience with Liquid Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry applications.
- Hands-on experience with LC-MS and/or GC-MS.
- Technical knowledge in Life Sciences utilizing Mass Spectrometry or similar analytical methods.
- Comprehensive understanding of qualitative and quantitative analytical chemistry.
- Proficiency in applying statistical mathematics.
- Familiarity with quantitation workflows.
- Knowledge of the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), particularly in an Agile environment.
- Experience with software testing methodologies.
- Background in Requirement Analysis, Test Design, Test Execution, and Defect Tracking.
- Proficient in using test management tools and defect tracking systems.
- Self-motivated, autonomous, and capable of independent work.
- Strong decision-making skills for quality outcomes.
- Ability to provide technical guidance and feedback.
- Team-oriented mindset.
- Demonstrate Thermo Fisher Scientific values – Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.

Preferred:
- Familiarity with Quality System Regulation and FDA expectations for software and hardware validation.

Desired:
- Certifications in software testing, such as ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board).
- Extensive experience with automation testing and tools.

- Project Management experience.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position in California is $90,900.00–$120,000.00.


This role may also qualify for a variable annual bonus based on performance metrics in line with company policy.
