Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee manual testing initiatives by collaborating with project stakeholders, both within IT (internal and/or vendor) and Business Teams, to comprehend documented functional and non-functional requirements for various transformational projects/programs.
- Independently direct the comprehensive testing strategy, including the creation of test plans and cases, analysis, validation, and verification, ensuring thorough, clear, traceable, feasible, unambiguous, and verifiable testing, inclusive of acceptance criteria.
- Document, analyze, and take ownership of essential project deliverables:
- Test Strategy/Plan: Develop, maintain, and present a comprehensive plan for all testing activities, detailing scope, objectives, approach, methodology, environments, deliverables, resources, schedule, entry and exit criteria, risk analysis, and other testing activities to guarantee a quality product.
- Test Cases: Formulate, maintain, and execute detailed positive and negative test cases to validate each functional and non-functional requirement, ensuring the software meets expected outcomes under diverse conditions. This includes pre-conditions, test data, expected results, post-conditions, and actual results. Ensure effective execution of test cases during internal testing and guide business users through the execution process.
- Traceability Matrix: Collaborate with Business Analysts to create and maintain a Requirements Traceability Matrix throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that each requirement is fully developed and tested for successful project delivery.
- Defect Reporting: Establish, maintain, and deliver a reporting mechanism to document, track, resolve, and communicate issues, including descriptions, severity, reproduction steps, and status for issues identified during testing, encompassing environment-related issues.
- Test Execution Reporting & Metrics: Develop, maintain, and deliver a reporting mechanism to provide quantitative measures of testing progress and effectiveness, summarizing results of executed tests, including pass, fail, or skip statuses.
- Ensure comprehensive understanding of test data management, collaborating with designated contacts to guarantee the test data set is complete for all necessary testing rounds and refreshed at appropriate intervals.
- Accountable for the stability of test environments, working alongside technical leads to ensure proper uptime and availability.
- Ensure signoff of all testing documentation is obtained from project/program stakeholders, proactively ensuring alignment across the stakeholder community.
- Develop into a subject matter expert in the designated field.
- Create and deliver presentations to communicate testing findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Possess the capability to take direction from multiple project leaders while providing guidance on best testing practices.
- At least 5 years of experience in software testing or a closely related field, with a minimum of 3 years in a Test Lead role.
- Experience collaborating with both internal and external IT development teams.
- Familiarity with Supply Chain Management.
- Ability to swiftly grasp business processes.
- Extensive knowledge of manual software testing methodologies and processes.
- Capability to manage multiple projects/workstreams concurrently.
- Exceptional planning and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Ability to bring structure to complex situations while leading a team towards a common delivery goal.
