Day Porter

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Day Porter to join our team at ABM. As a Day Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our facilities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and visitors.

• Clean and maintain all public areas, including floors, walls, and surfaces, using a variety of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment, and wash and replace blinds as needed.
• Move furniture, boxes, and equipment to clean areas, either manually or using hand trucks.
• Remove stains from surfaces using chemicals and cleaning solutions, and sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, and remove snow as needed.
• Mix cleaning solutions according to specifications and apply them to surfaces as needed.
• Strip, seal, finish, and polish floors to maintain their appearance and durability.
• Clean and vacuum carpeted areas, including application of spot cleaning treatment.
• Gather and empty trash, and wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
• Clean and polish furniture and fixtures, and service, clean, and supply restrooms.
• Periodically clean overhead vents, dust blinds, and polish wood furniture.
• Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
• Spray insecticides and fumigants to prevent insect and rodent infestation.
• Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events.
• Requisition supplies and equipment needed for cleaning and maintenance duties, and monitor building security and safety.
• Drive vehicles (if required) to perform or travel to cleaning work, and make basic repairs as needed.

Requirements

To be successful as a Day Porter, you will need to have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will also need to be physically fit and able to lift heavy equipment and supplies.
