Job Summary

The Unit Support Associate works closely with a registered nurse to ensure the smooth operation of the assigned unit/department. Key responsibilities include performing administrative and receptionist duties, greeting patients and visitors, and recognizing potentially hazardous situations. The successful candidate will also facilitate optimal patient flow, coordinate diagnostic testing as ordered by physicians and/or nurse practitioners, and maintain supplies and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and visitors, screen arrivals, and recognize potential safety risks
  • Perform secretarial and clerical duties to support unit operations
  • Facilitate patient flow, coordinate testing, and maintain supply levels
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED required; one year of experience in medical field preferred
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA, and patient rights
  • Effective communication skills, computer proficiency, and ability to work under pressure
