Position Summary: The role of a Chemical Mixer involves the precise compounding of chemicals based on established formulations to produce finished goods ready for bottling and packaging. This position requires the operation and upkeep of mixing equipment, including large kettles, while collaborating with colleagues to achieve production targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Examine batch specifications for end products and accurately gather, weigh, and prepare all necessary raw materials.
- Identify and differentiate over 200 chemical names along with their abbreviations.
- Clean and prepare empty drums for reuse as necessary.
- Conduct cleanup tasks following each production batch.
- Maintain cleanliness of mixing kettles between different product batches.
- Safely handle and transport full drums, weighing between 400 to 500 lbs., utilizing dollies and pallet jacks.
- Comply with all safety protocols and company policies, including the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Engage in safety training and contribute to a secure working environment.
- Promptly report any safety concerns or incidents to a supervisor.
- Notify supervisors of any equipment issues or maintenance requirements.
- Ensure safe and proper operation of all equipment.
- Keep the work area organized and clean.
- Adhere to workplace safety policies and procedures.
- Perform additional tasks as needed to support the company's mission and values.
Is This Position Right for You?
Essential Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Steel-toed shoes are mandatory for safety compliance.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
- Experience operating forklifts and electric pallet jacks is preferred.
Work Environment and Requirements: This position involves working in a manufacturing setting that is not climate-controlled, with exposure to noise, machinery, and varying temperatures.
Working Hours: Candidates must be flexible to adhere to the following schedule:
- Regular: Monday through Thursday, 7 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. (Fridays as assigned)
- Summer: Monday through Friday, 7 p.m. to 3:30 a.m.
- Punctuality and reliability are crucial for this role.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for extended periods.
