IBM MQ Specialist | NYC - Global Asset Manager

We are seeking a skilled IBM MQ Specialist to join our dynamic SRE & Platforms team in New York City. In this role, you will be responsible for managing our post-trade IBM MQ platform and infrastructure. Your key tasks will include setting up channels and handling on-call work to ensure the smooth operation of our messaging systems.

Key Responsibilities:
* Manage and maintain the post-trade IBM MQ platform and infrastructure.
* Set up and configure MQ channels to support business processes.
* Provide on-call support to address and resolve any issues promptly.
* Collaborate with the SRE team to enhance system reliability and performance.
* Implement best practices for middleware and messaging systems.

Qualifications:
* Bachelors or Masters degree from a Top 40 Computer Science or Computer Engineering program.
* Proven experience with IBM MQ in a similar role.
* Strong background in middleware, DevOps, or messaging engineering.
* MUST come from a financial services background (Bank, Trading Firm, Asset Manager, Fintech, etc.)
* MUST NOT come from a consulting or third-party vendor.
* Familiarity with SRE principles and practices.
* Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
