Investor Tax Services Specialist, Assistant Vice President

An Assistant Vice President to join the Transfer Agency Compliance team within the US Institutional Transfer Agency in Quincy, MA at the John Adams Building. The ideal candidate would come to us with Excel proficiency, enthusiasm to learn, and an interest in operational Compliance duties including focused primarily on US tax withholding services related to Chapter 3 NRA withholding and Chapter 4 FATCA withholding and reporting. The candidate would be responsible for ensuring full pre-distribution proofing, year-end tax form issuance management, and ensuring client specific requirements are accomplished and fully reviewed and reconciled during the year end process. This is a first shift position from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm ET schedule and a hybrid work arrangement.

What you will be responsible for
As an Investor Tax Services Specialist, Assistant Vice President, you will:
- Validate and review all daily activity while maintaining all required controls Research and resolve exceptions and issues.
- Receive and resolve inquiries in a timely and accurate manner and communicates effectively with client when necessary.
- Define and ensure successful completion of ad-hoc requests.
- Escalate unresolved issues to management as required.
- Reconcile and resolve discrepancies with other teams as needed.
- Ensure appropriate records of daily, monthly, and quarterly activities are kept.
- Perform daily or weekly reporting functions for the team's activities.
- Ensure adherence to Standard Operating Procedures
- Keep up to date on broader internal/external business issues; apply knowledge across team.
- Assist management in the implementation of new policies and procedures, participate in projects.
- Assist with workflow management and technology enhancements.
- Make suggestions to streamline operations.
- Maintain knowledge of current alternative procedures and processes
- Support training of new hires as necessary
- During the course of normal day to day operations, responsible for identifying any unusual or potentially suspicious transaction activity and must report and/or escalate in accordance with corporate policy and guidelines detailed in relevant operating procedures.
- Perform duties of Associates and provide back-up management support if required.
- Provide support to the Institutional TA and contribute to projects in a fast-paced environment specific to investor tax servicing.
- Perform tasks related to regulatory and tax requirements, including tax form production, distribution withholding for Chapter 3 NRA and Chapter 4 FATCA withholding, compiling and presenting Common Reporting Standard data for Cayman-based Administrators for collateralized products, and other ad hoc tax related requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What we value

- 2-3 years of relevant experience in operational tax or regulatory compliance
- Practical understanding of IRS Chapters 3, 4 and IRS tax withholding and income reporting requirements
- Understanding of US Tax forms - W8 and W9, US and non-US Regulations (including Tax)
- Strong critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills
- Working knowledge of Powerpoint, Word, and Excel; including functions such as macros and VLOOKUP
- Ability to handle competing priorities and adhere to deadlines
Education & Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree; ideally in Finance or Accounting
- Ability to understand, follow and demonstrate compliance with IRS regulations.

Salary Range:
$80,000 - $132,500 Annual
The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
