I am currently partnering with a leading Hedge Fund in the New York area that is actively looking to expand one of their Commodity trading teams by taking on a Quantitative Analyst to work directly alongside the PM and other researchers within the group. This role will entail working on the development and implementation of pricing models, conducting market and signal research, development of analytical trading tools, and generating insights as to drive decision-making for the trading desk.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement advanced quantitative models and algorithms to analyze commodities markets, including price movements, volatility, and correlations.
  • Collect, clean, and manage large datasets from various sources, ensuring data accuracy and relevance for analysis.
  • Collaborate with trading and investment teams to develop and refine trading strategies and investment decisions based on quantitative insights.


Qualifications:

  • Master's degree or Ph.D. in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 1+ year of experience in quantitative research or analysis within the commodities sector across Energy, Metals, Oil, or other products.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB. Strong knowledge of statistical analysis, machine learning techniques, and data visualization.
  • Deep understanding of commodities markets, including energy, metals, agricultural products, and related financial instruments.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise manner.
