Our challenge
As part of a network modernization project, we are seeking a highly skilled Wireless Architect to join a strategic network modernization project. This project aims to overhaul the existing network infrastructure to support the latest wireless technologies, improve network performance, and enhance security. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in designing and deploying modern wireless solutions in complex enterprise environments.
Additional Information*
The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York, NY is $135k - $145k/year & benefits (see below).
The Role
Responsibilities :
- Lead the design and architecture of the organization's wireless network infrastructure, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.
- Deep understanding of wireless communication principles, network protocols, and security frameworks.
- Expertise in the latest wireless technologies (e.g., Wi-Fi 6/6E, 5G, IoT).
- Strong experience with network management and wireless design tools (e.g., Ekahau, AirMagnet).
- Implement and manage wireless networking fundamentals, including wireless protocols, standards, and best practices.
- Design and deploy wireless network solutions, including wireless access points, controllers, and network management systems.
- Ensure the security and integrity of the wireless network, implementing wireless security solutions and protocols.
- Collaborate with infrastructure teams to integrate wireless networking with the overall network infrastructure and data center environments.
- Optimize wireless network performance, identifying and resolving issues to enhance coverage and reliability.
- Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline wireless network management and maintenance processes.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., CWNE, CCIE Wireless) are highly desirable.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on engaging effectively with client stakeholders.
You are:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree or relevant certifications such as CWNA, CWDP, CWAP, CCNP Wireless, or equivalent preferred.
- Proven experience in wireless network design, implementation, and management in enterprise environments.
- Strong knowledge of wireless networking fundamentals, including wireless protocols, standards, and best practices.
- Experience in the deployment and management of wireless network hardware, including wireless access points, controllers, and network management systems.
- Proficiency in wireless network security principles, practices, and technologies, with hands-on experience in implementing and managing wireless security solutions.
- Familiarity with scripting languages and automation tools for wireless network management and optimization.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex wireless network issues efficiently.
