What you’ll do
As the Manufacturing Engineer for Utilimaster (A Shyft Brand) based at our facility in Bristol, IN, you will enjoy developing and maintaining the manufacturing systems needed to drive continuous improvement in areas of cost, quality, safety, lead time, and use of working capital.You will also:Evaluate tools and equipment options that will improve productivity and eliminate hazardsPlan and estimate new manufacturing processes and operationsImplement lean manufacturing principles such as visual controls, pull inventory systems, workplace organization, material flow routes, and material delivery methods (kitting, kanban, milk routes, etc.)Monitor and correct safety and ergonomic issuesDevelop and organize lean eventsAssist with the NPI process and support the War On Waste (WOW) program Evaluate new projects for layout optimization, opportunities for automaton, material delivery and presentation, material flow, and operator work envelopesDevelop standard work for existing and new processesPerform workstation audits to optimize the operator envelope and densityDrive continuous improvement and eliminate waste Aid in workstation load balancing for all manufacturing areasPartner cross-functionally with engineering, materials, purchasing, and sales to resolve issuesCollaborate with management to gain approval for investments in new machinery and equipment that will improve manufacturing and assembly operationsLearn more about The Shyft Group, Utilimaster, and Bristol, IN by exploring the Learn More section below.
Qualifications
