Having opened its first office more than 20 years ago, this organization is now the largest physician-led outpatient medical practice in the greater NYC metro area. In addition to robust primary care offerings, they also operate specialty service lines in cardiology, pediatrics, obstetrics and gynecology, allergy and immunology, dermatology, and more. Their large staff of physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants are supported by dedicated team members, utilizing resources such as on-site laboratory services.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
This position is an outpatient gastroenterology role in a multi-specialty group practice. The new physician will evaluate, diagnose, and provide appropriate treatment and patient care for
disorders and diseases associated with nutritional problems and malabsorption, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), and other diseases and conditions such as colon and bowel cancers, pancreatitis and pancreatic cancer, etc.
Specific duties of the role include, but are not limited to:
- review patient histories and perform physical examinations
- conduct physical evaluations and diagnostic tests to determine diagnoses
- provide appropriate treatments and patient care plans
- recommend management, including preventive healthcare and habits
- prescribe medications
- perform a wide range of non-invasive gastroenterology procedures
- formulate ongoing treatment and disease management plans
- provide relationship-centered care, taking into account psychosocial and physical needs
- maintain complete and accurate medical records
- communicate effectively with the clinical team to ensure total delivery of quality care
- participate in medical staff educational programs and meetings
A variable number of patients per day are seen, based upon provider preference for patient volume and types of appointments scheduled.
All visits are prepped and supported by dedicated clinical assistants.
The practice utilizes the Epic EHR.
This position has no weekends or evenings. The new physician will share on-call phone answering responsibilities with other gastroenterologists.
REQUIREMENTS:
- New York medical license
- DEA
- Board Certification or Eligibility, Gastroenterology
