The Judge Group is seeking a Technical Manager for a manufacturing company located in Sylacauga, AL area.Title: Technical ManagerLocation: Sylacauga, ALSalary: $165,000 - $195,000 plus bonusRelocation: YESJob Description:Leadership Responsibilities:• Oversee Process Improvements, Environmental, Fiber, Energy & Water (FEW) Management, R&D, Customer Relations, Quality, Process Safety, Lab Activities, Plant Engineering/Capital Projects, and Continuous Improvement.• Directly manage Process Safety, Fiber, Energy & Water, and Continuous Improvement.• Provide guidance on long-term trends and potential resolutions to operational areas.Duties and Responsibilities:• Lead Process Safety Management efforts at the mill, ensuring Compliance Audits and PHAs are conducted and followed up on. Maintain up-to-date Process Safety Information and ensure the MOC process is adhered to.• Develop and manage projects related to Fiber, Energy & Water Management, including Engineering, Capital, and Major Maintenance projects, as well as smaller operational changes to support current and future objectives.• Lead Continuous Improvement initiatives, from small focused teams with defined objectives to developing and tracking mill KPIs.• Provide guidance and support for mill Process Information systems, such as PI and Plant Apps.• Offer guidance and support for Process Improvement across all mill areas.• Support the Environmental Engineer in managing compliance with regulations and conformance to standards (ISO14001), and provide backup coverage when needed.• Support the Customer Technical Service Manager in managing compliance with regulations and conformance to standards (ISO9001), and provide backup coverage when needed.• Supervise the effective management of all mill Management Systems.Knowledge and Experience:• BS in Engineering or Physical Sciences.• Strong background in an industrial environment with 10+ years of experience.• Proficiency in various computing platforms such as Excel, Word, PI, Plant Apps, etc.• Preferred detailed knowledge of the safety, environmental, and quality requirements of a large integrated pulp mill.• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with all levels within the organization and external parties, both verbally and in writing.• Ability to extract and implement ideas from within the organization and beyond.• Capability to provide leadership from an indirect supervisory role.
