Vice President of Protein PurchasingREQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Bachelor s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in procurement and sourcing roles, with a focus on beef, pork, and poultry productsProven track record of successfully negotiating and managing contracts with suppliers, resulting in cost savings and improved terms.Extensive knowledge of global meat markets, industry trends, and supply chain dynamics for raw protein.Strong understanding of quality control standards and regulations related to beef, pork, and poultry procurement.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.Proficient in data analysis and utilizing key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive informed decision-making.Proven ability to adapt to changing market conditions and implement effective risk management strategies in meat procurement.DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Develop and execute strategic plans for protein sourcing, aligning with overall company goals.Strong knowledge regarding the procurement of beef, pork, and poultry products, ensuring a diverse and well-rounded protein supply.Evaluate and assess market conditions for beef, pork, and poultry, adjusting procurement strategies to capitalize on opportunities and mitigate risks.Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure a consistent and high-quality protein supply chain.Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with vendors to optimize cost efficiency and meat budgetary targets.Stay abreast of market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes affecting the protein market.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including logistics, operations, and sales to coordinate and optimize the procurement process.Analyze and assess supplier performance, implementing improvements as needed to enhance efficiency and reliability.Analyze cost structures, conduct supplier audits, and implement cost-effective measures to enhance overall profitability in protein procurement.Lead negotiations and contract renewals with major beef, pork, and poultry suppliersDevelop and implement key performance indicators to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement processes.
