POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounting Clerk II to join our team, supporting our USPTO client in Alexandria, VA. This role is integral to the smooth operation of the finance office and involves providing comprehensive administrative support. The successful candidate will perform various clerical duties, independently manage tasks, and ensure accuracy and efficiency in financial operations.

  • Location: Alexandria, VA (Onsite)
  • Clearance Requirement: Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance. U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Position Type: Full-Time W-2

RESPONSIBILITIES

Administrative Support

  • Perform data entry, maintain files (paper and electronic), and manage correspondence.
  • Answer and route phone calls, respond to inquiries, and screen visitors.

Financial Operations

  • Process travel vouchers, time and attendance records, and other finance-related tasks.
  • Support audits, financial testing, and quarterly reporting initiatives.
  • Manage distribution and courier services for passport documents, including phone communications, copying, and faxing.

System Support

  • Maintain user access to internal systems and provide training for travel-related systems.
  • Handle routine tasks such as processing travel forms and managing office supply orders.

Project Support

  • Schedule and coordinate meetings, prepare materials, and handle routine correspondence.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned, including special project support.

REQUIREMENTS

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or GED required; associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of administrative or clerical experience.

Skills & Proficiency

  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Customer service orientation and the ability to work independently.

Clearance

  • Must be able to pass a background investigation to obtain a Public Trust Clearance.
    Candidates with a Public Trust background investigation are encouraged to apply
