PLANT NURSE/FULL TIME 11P-7A, Mon-Fri with every other Sunday Nights

Position Summary The Plant Nurse will report to the EHS Manager and will assist in maintaining the Plant's safety programs and improving overall workforce safety awareness. This is a floor-oriented position that will have continuous daily contact with Team Members as well as members of management to understand and react to issues on the floor.
Essential Functions of Position Duties:
Teach, mentor, and lead front line supervisors to ensure team member safety Monitor and assess hazardous and unsafe situations Conduct team member training on occupational safety and health programs Ensure that the workplace is safe and compliant with health and safety regulations by interpreting and providing information on laws, regulations and company policies and procedures Assist in coordination of compliance with workplace health policies and procedures Investigate, analyze, and report on any incidents or unsafe events and suggest remedial and preventative actions Perform hazard/risk identification and assessments Perform safety inspections/audits with appropriate corrective actions and follow through until items have been completed Assist with Contractor Safety management Support Process Safety Management as needed Instruct workers to improve safety performance in the details of the work they perform Provide both assistance and backup for the various assignments of safety and environmental projects Develop a safety conscious culture by providing workforce education on first aid, emergency/safety procedures and regulations.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. Walk inside and outside of the facility often. Required to stand, bend, stoop, crouch, twist and walk for long periods of time
Work Environment:
Must be able to withstand hot, cold and wet environments
Position Type and Hours:
Regular work-site attendance; Full Time 11p-7a Monday -Friday and every other Sunday Night
Qualifications for Position Skills and Abilities:
High level of organizational, written, verbal and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail Sound work ethic, honesty and moral character Effectively able to Strong multi-task and prioritize work accordingly Effective ability to manage conflict Ability to be creative and demonstrate innovative methods to advance workplace safety
Minimum Education and Experience:
Degree or certifications in occupational safety, OR High School Diploma or Equivalent and safety certifications required PLUS 3-5 years relevant safety experience
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience in a manufacturing setting preferred, food & beverage is a plus Credentials as an ASP, CSP, COHT or other recognized safety certifications are a plus
