This position provides an opportunity to join an expanding team that will continue to develop and expand a system that supports an existing government customer. We work closely with our customer to ensure that we continue to provide the updated services needed as they expand their own offerings to a growing list of other government organizations.The selected Java Developer candidate will work within established Agile team to build and further advance GDIT software systems and applications. This employee will also enjoy a flexible work environment where contributions are recognized and rewarded.Key Responsibilities:The Java Developer conducts or participates in the research, design, and development of systems software, software applications and/or tools for new programs and subprograms. Responsibilities also include enhancements, modifications, and corrections to existing software. In addition, this employee is responsible for coding, testing, integrating, deploying, and documenting software solutions.Basic Qualifications:Server-side software development including configuration of web servers (both IBM/Apache and IIS), web services implementation (SOAP and REST), SQL database (particularly MS SQL Server) usage, and XML processing. Software development using Java, JUnit, Spring, Hibernate, Log4j, and other libraries using Agile processes (Scrum or Kanban). Tooling including Netbeans, Maven, Git, and Jira. Cryptography services, especially certificate use and management.The senior level Java Developer must have at least five to seven years of experience with the technologies (may have less with the tools).The candidate must successfully complete a Public Trust background investigation.Additional (Desired) Qualifications:Smart card programming experience is highly desired. Experience with the SoapUI and Quartz Task Scheduler tools would be helpful. Experience with .NET programming would also be helpful.Work Location:Primary location of work will be remote with occasional option to work in Falls Church, VA.The likely salary range for this position is $127,500 - $172,500. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary.
