(AG orders meal, feed, germ, steep water, and industrial starch)Specific Responsibilities include:Supply chain management: Analyzing the local business environment to organize the purchasing process, including ordering, tracking, receipt, compliance checks, and budget control.Inventory management: Monitoring inventory levels to ensure proper stock levels for build and repair activities, and receiving, maintaining, and checking out parts as needed.Shipping: Coordinating, organizing, scheduling, and managing inbound and outbound shipments to ensure they arrive on time and accurately.Record keeping: Keeping precise records of all commodities going in and out of the plant.Workplace safety: Maintaining the cleanliness, organization, and safety of all workspaces.The Logistics specialist may also need to manage vehicle repairs and driver needs, investigate lost shipments or late deliveries, and coordinate pickups and deliveries from carriers, trains, trucks, planes, or ships.Your profile needs these qualifications: Associate or Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain/logistics, or a related field, with previous related internship or work experience, is a plus.
Knowledge of rail transportation or plant logistics is preferred. Demonstrated ability to plan with multiple stakeholders dynamically.
Ability to learn a Transportation Management System (TMS).
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and SAP is a plus.
You'll need these skills to be successful:The Logistics specialist should be an analytical thinker who can apply a logical and structured approach to analyzing logistics challenges and developing solutions.Should also be detail-oriented, self-motivated, adaptable, and collaborative. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to function well as a team member or independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
