QMHP- MENTAL/BEHAVIORAL HEALTH/CLINIC AND SCHOOL BASED
2 months ago
OVERVIEW
The Madeline Centre was founded in 1996 as an outpatient counseling office serving individuals and families in Central Virginia. A family business in its 28th year of operation, we’ve treated thousands of children and adults in the region in offices, clinics, homes, and school settings. Driven by clinicians, our primary focus has been caring for the individuals referred to our services, advocating appropriately for system improvement, and facing some of the toughest clinical challenges.
We are proud to announce our search for an Intensive Clinic Based Clinician who shares our excitement for the Behavioral Health Redesign that is currently unfolding in Virginia. As an established agency with a strong reputation for providing high-quality clinical services, our agency has been looking forward to the restructuring of our Commonwealth's behavioral healthcare system and as such, we see this time as a phenomenal opportunity to improve, increase, and enhance the services we provide to our consumers. We are a "family of professionals improving the mental & behavioral health of every person we meet," and if that resonates with you then we want to meet you.
What you would do in this role?
-Contribute to a multidisciplinary team of professionals and be a valued member of the decision making process for care
-Provide clinic-based services to moderate to high acuity child & adolescent populations with limited staffing ratios to ensure proficiency and safety
-Coordinate care across different service providers to ensure step down services are in place
-Communicate (daily) with parents & caregivers about the children under care and their progress
-Document 100% of the services provided in a timely and appropriate fashion
-For Residents or Licensed individuals: Assist in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning for new admissions
-Have fun providing services to kids in a supportive team environment
Who are the clients?
The consumers for this role are children, age 6-17, who are in need of Mental Health Partial Hospitalization or Intensive Outpatient Programming. As one of the highest levels of care outside of an inpatient admission, we work through issues of abuse & neglect, challenging behaviors, challenging emotions, and sometimes tough clinical presentations. We do this through the lens of providing genuine compassion for the kids we work with, solid psychoeducation and group-based clinical work, outpatient therapy, psychiatry, and family work. Our clients are with us 3-4 hours per day and as such, strong applicants will have the ability to draw from our established curriculum and present therapeutic group work that prioritizes 1) safety, 2) individualized care, and 3) sound clinical work.
About the program:
This is a structured five day per week program with limited on-call duties shared among the treatment team. Applicants are expected to be able to be onsite for the entirety of the daily schedule, 10am - 7pm. The ability to be consistent is critical.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Qualified Mental Health Professional (Child & Adolescent, required); OR,
Resident in Counseling or Licensed Professional Counselor (Strongly Preferred)
