Please review the job details below.Maxar is currently seeking a Software Engineer to join our growing team in Melbourne, FL or Herndon, VA.Responsibilities:Take algorithm definitions and prototypes and convert them into robust software applications that run efficiently on large images and are ready for operational environments.Apply software standards and processes to produce high quality, extensible, and maintainable software packages.Collaborating with our technical experts to solve issues and iterate to improve efficiency and reduce technical debtBuild and improve on automated test and verification software and tools.Design robust software systems for integration of existing signal processing tools.Debug, refactor and reimplement existing software codebases into new systems and on new platformsParticipate in all aspects of the development lifecycle, including planning, requirements development, software design, implementation and build, documentation, testing, deployment and maintenanceRequired Qualifications:US Citizen able to obtain a TS/SCI security clearance with required Polygraph.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technology fields3+ years of experience in related fieldsProgramming skills in Python and/or C++Version control experience in Git (GitHub, GitLab, BitBucket)Experience in implementing software using mathematical solutionsDesired Qualifications:7+ years software and image processing experienceExperience with formal software development methodologies (Agile)Experience writing software implementing algorithmsBackground or experience with orbital dynamicsBackground or experience with image processing#cjpostIn support of pay transparency at Maxar, we disclose salary ranges on all of our U.S. job postings. We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market-driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. To accommodate all locations, we have listed the bottom to the top of the possible range, and will share the target range for a specific location during the recruiting discussion. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:$71,000.00 - $152,000.00 annually.We offer a comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, health and welfare insurance, and 401(k) to eligible employees.
