This person will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation, optimization and performance of our AI-driven products and services for advanced research. As an AI Platform Engineer, you will:Lead the technical development of an emerging enterprise AI inference service.Collaborate with researchers and data scientists to deploy machine learning models for enterprise use.Optimize AI models, workflows and system performance by conducting analysis and benchmarks to address bottlenecks.Operate and enhance software and infrastructure for scalable and reliable AI inference.Stay up-to-date with latest advancements in AI inference technologies and best practices. QualificationsYou meet our minimum qualifications for the job if you...Hold a Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent years of related professional work experience.Have 3+ years scripting and programming skills with Python.Have 1+ experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries such as Tensorflow, PyTorch or MXNet.Have 1+ year experience using container-based orchestration (e.g. Kubernetes) and run-time environments (e.g. Docker).Solid understanding of inferencing with foundation models including LLMs.Demonstrate ability to investigate and resolve moderately complex problems using current job knowledge, research data and external resources.Able to work effectively with leadership to prioritize competing tasks.Demonstrate solid communication and listening skills within a collaborative team environment.Ambitious to learn, effectively plan and organize work, seek and share knowledge on a continuous basis.Are able to obtain Secret level security clearance. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as geographic location, work experience, market conditions, education/training and skill level with consideration for internal parity. For salaried employees scheduled to work less than 40 hours per week, annual salary will be prorated based on the number of hours worked. APL may offer bonuses or other forms of compensation per internal policy and/or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be provided in the form of a sign-on bonus, relocation benefits, locality allowance or discretionary payments for exceptional performance. APL provides eligible staff with a comprehensive benefits package including retirement plans, paid time off, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, flexible spending accounts, education assistance, and training and development.
