General Surgery opening - Norton, VA Located 45m to KingsportJ1/H1 Eligible General bread & butter surgery experience and advanced laparoscopic skills required. Minimally invasive skills a plus Position Details - Full-time, permanent- Employed- 129-bed facility, one of 22 facilities the Medical Group- The draw area serves a population of 75,000 to 100,000 which includes southwestern Virginia and southeastern Kentucky. - There is a local 10-physician primary care network to supply patient referrals. - This expansive service area of Southwest Virginia and Southeastern Kentucky holds huge potential.- Goal is to find a general surgeon who shares the same philosophy as the Medical Group in being able to accommodate patients at home and not transfer them out of the area for their care. - The hospital has expressed a large amount of flexibility to fit the needs of the new physician. - If board-eligible, board certification must be completed within five years of completion of residency for all candidates. About the Medical Group - The facility recently invested $12 million surgery project with four, state-of-the-art operating rooms. - A $16.5 million dollar renovation project that included the ER, Cardio-pulmonary services, radiology equipment, diagnostic technology, EPIC EMR and a new Main and Emergency entrance was also recently completed. - As the largest healthcare facility in the coalfield region, Hospital provides a wide array of services through highly trained physicians and support staff.- Supports a wide range of health care services including surgery, OB/GYN, pulmonary and critical care, rehabilitation services and much more. - Recognized for its outstanding inpatient rehabilitation services, a black lung clinic and high-quality imaging technology. - In 2016, Health Group completed the $13.3 million Health-Plex expansion. The Health-Plex not only has amazing views of the beautiful Southwest, VA mountains; but is a 39,000-square foot facility that includes a wellness center, pharmacy with drive-thru services, occupational medicine, outpatient rehabilitation, cardiac/pulmonary rehab, primary and orthopedic physician offices. - 22-hospital health system, covering a 27-county area and is made up of three tertiary facilities, 19 community/critical access hospitals, seven cancer centers, 18 Urgent Care locations, 40+ primary care and multiple specialty offices through its employed arm- Over 800 physicians and advanced practitioners.
