This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Estimator to be located in the client's office in Journal Square Transportation Center, Jersey City, NJ a minimum of 3 days/week and remote a maximum of 2 days/week.Be involved in projects with our CM Team and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges. Your ImpactDuties and Responsibilities:Prepares work to be estimated by gathering drawings, specifications, and related documents for various disciplines.Identifies labor, material, and time requirements by studying proposals, drawings, specifications, and related documents.Computes costs by analyzing labor, material, and time requirements.Resolves discrepancies by collecting and analyzing information.Presents prepared estimate by assembling and displaying numerical and descriptive information.Prepares special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.Maintains cost data base by entering and backing up data.Maintains technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing technical publications.Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as neededAttend client meetings and contract negotiations in-person at client's officeWho You Are Minimum Qualifications:7-10 years related experience in transit estimating primarily focused on rail work with supporting/related infrastructureExperience in developing, reviewing, and negotiating force account estimatesBachelor of Science degree in a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g. Civil Engineering), Construction Management, or relatedDemonstrated skill/experience in development of Conceptual through Bid Document crew-based or unit price cost estimates Strong knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff or Bluebeam software and MS Office applications.Able to read plans and develop cost estimates Strong understanding of construction processesAble to price contract changes and meet with general contractors and subcontractors to negotiate these changesAble to demonstrate progressively increasing responsibility in estimating, working effectively with minimal supervision.Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures  Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policiesPreferred Qualifications:Working knowledge in use of HCSS HeavyBid, Sage Timberline, and/or other estimating software applicationsConstruction contractor estimating experienceThis position is subject to and contingent upon client approval of candidates put forth for consideration by WSP.Relocation assistance is not available for this position.Compensation and Benefits:WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits including medical, dental, vision, disability, life, and retirement savings focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career.Expected Salary: $138,400-169,290WSP USA is providing the compensation range and general description of other compensation and benefits that the company in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location.
