Requirements



High school diploma or equivalent

Five years experience in maintenance or any appropriate combination of education and experience

Working knowledge of electricity and electrical troubleshooting up to and including 480 VAC

Ability to run conduit and size wiring accordingly to circuit demands and within the boundaries established by the National Electrical code

Experience in troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems from proper set up to I/O validation

Ability to cut and weld stainless steel, aluminum, and mild steel



Responsibilities



Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment and forklifts by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines; following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshooting malfunctions.

Locates sources of problems by observing equipment in operation; listening for problems; using precision measuring and testing instruments, leveraging maintenance and operations manuals.

Ability to leverage external support such as OEM, vendor service technicians, other site best practices, and outside experts to ensure maximum equipment performance.

Repair of equipment may require using hoists, cranes, hand, and power tools as well as minor fabrication such as bending, welding, drilling and fastening.

Preventative maintenance procedures will require using rules, calipers, micrometers, pressure and flow instruments and light electrical such as voltage and ohm meters.

Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments by using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, and straightedges.

Controls downtime by performing timely preventative maintenance and enhancing PM procedures as new failure points are identified.

Communication with other functions is a necessity such as planning and scheduling PM and corrective repairs, talking with operators to understand issues, and train operators on proper techniques to keep the machine running properly.

Prepares downtime maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.

Fabricates repair parts as needed by using machine shop equipment.

Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies; placing and expediting orders; verifying receipt.
