Completes physical assessment sheet and reviews medical history. Records work related issues and reports OSHA recordable and workers' compensation cases to the nursing supervisor. Assists with medical cost management.Principal and Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesAdministers medical care for work or non-work-related injury or illness by giving first aid treatment, following appropriate Occupational Health Nursing Guidelines, algorithms, and medical directives, and referring cases to physicians or advanced practice nurses as needed.The LPN may obtain health care history information and may perform specific assessments or screening activities,such asmental health status, suicidal risk, cognitive screening, substance use screening, oral health screening, growth, and developmental screening, or nutritional assessments, depending on the scope of license within the applicable stateDocuments information. Enters data into OHM (Occupational Health Management) systems. Completes necessary forms and informs nursing supervisor.Performs drug screens, TB skin testing, wellness programs, etc., as assigned by nursing supervisor.Assists with medical cost management by early intervention in care of associates with constant follow up. Orders medical supplies as needed.Assists with administration of medical care under direction of Nurse/Wellness Center Supervisor to reduce time away from work. Processes physician's notes appropriately.Assists staff with systems for health improvement of associates at the facility, i.e., participation in and support with Know Your Numbers program.Complete electronic recordkeeping for associates, document interactions, and care. Data entry as appropriate.Support function of wellness center that is consistent with company policies, to include injury/illness medical treatment, clinic appointments (at Wellness Centers), ordering supplies, etcAssists staff with systems for the health improvement of associates at the facility.Other duties as assigned.Minimum EducationSuccessful completion of an approved practical nursing program, college program or Associates degree in a related fieldExperience Requirements5 plus years related work experience.Current LPN license in state of North Carolina.Current certification in CPR in good standing.Good verbal and written communication skills.Experience PreferredPhlebotomy skillsBilingual is a plusEnvironmental Factors and Physical RequirementsWork activity is in an office and in a plant. (May be an open-partitioned, cubicle environment.).Position requires a good bit of walking around, moving to other offices or buildings and through the plant.May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.May need to access files, supplies and equipment. When in a plant environment:Exposure primarily consists of wet and moist floors which include metal and plastic grating surfaces.May be exposed to temperatures of 28 degrees to 100 degrees Fahrenheit with both ambient and 100% humidity.May handle product 25 degrees to 50 degrees Fahrenheit. May be exposed to noise ranges of 50 db to 110 db.May be exposed to all chemicals found in poultry, food and processing plant.Must wear and use protective and safety equipment required for the job as directed by the CompanyPerdue Farms, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity / Affirmative Action employer.
