Job Description: Industrial Fire Apparatus Engineer/EMT - Houston  IMMEDIATELY HIRING INDUSTRIAL FIRE APPARATUS ENGINEER-EMTs FULL-TIME Opportunities available in Houston TX$22 per hour We are hiring Industrial Fire Apparatus Engineers/EMTs with a passion for firefighting and patient care combined with the drive to succeed and deliver high-quality care.    Job Summary:  Industrial Fire Apparatus Engineers/EMTs, under direct supervision, trains for and participates in duties and related responsibilities of an emergency and/or hazardous nature in fire suppression and emergency operations in an industrial facility, responds to fire alarms and other emergency calls to protect life and property; drives, operates and maintains fire apparatus and equipment. Although firefighting and rescue work are the most difficult and responsible areas of activity, the major portion of time is spent drilling and studying methods, techniques, and organization, and in routine duties in the care and maintenance of customer property and equipment.  This is considered a safety sensitive position and is subject to both the Company’s and the Client’s Industrial Drug and Alcohol Testing Policy, which includes: pre-employment testing, post-accident testing, random testing, reasonable suspicion testing, return to duty testing and follow-up testing.  Minimum Required Qualifications:   18 years old. Must be a high school graduate or possess a GED certificate. Valid Driver’s License. Must possess County, State and/or National EMT-B credentials. Must possess AHA CPR/AED credentials. Physical Agility Fitness Test (Initial Hire and Annually). State, IFSAC, or PROBOARD Firefighter 1 certification.State, IFSAC, or PROBOARD Driver Operator – Pumper (NFPA 1002)Hazardous Materials Operations (state, IFSAC, PROBOARD) Desired Qualifications:Hazardous Materials Technician (state, IFSAC, or PROBOARD)Confined Space Rescue Technician (state, IFSAC, or PROBOARD)Trench Rescue (NFPA 1006)Swiftwater Rescue (NFPA 1006)State, IFSAC, or PROBOARD Firefighter 2NFPA 1081, Industrial Fire Brigade MemberState, IFSAC, or PROBOARD Driver Operator – Mobile Water Supply Responsibilities:  Responds to fire alarms and other emergency calls by driving assigned automotive equipment or fire apparatus to the required location.Drives, operates and maintains various types of firefighting and suppression apparatus and equipment, including but not limited to pumping and ladder equipment and ground monitors.Training personnel in the operation and maintenance of fire apparatus and equipment.Quickly follows established Company procedures when responding to emergencies as well as instructions given at the emergency scene. Correctly and promptly uses all relevant apparatus, tools, and equipment. Remains calm and poised in all emergency situations and gains rapid control over the problem at hand. Administers first aid to injured parties at their appropriate level of training. Quickly analyzes situations where life safety is threatened and applies the correct treatment. Safely operates Company vehicles, and equipment as directed. Assists in the maintenance of fire and rescue apparatus, tools, and equipment keeping such apparatus, tools, and equipment in good operating and safe condition by competently and efficiently performing maintenance and testing tasks. Keeps the company base and related grounds, facilities, and supplies in a clean, orderly and useable condition. Performs routine non-firefighting work tasks, such as working on Company records, time cards and other related paperwork. Functions satisfactorily as a team member of a fire company at any emergency or non-emergency scene, and willingly accepts their share of the work required. Able to meet the physical requirements required to perform firefighting tasks. Remains skilled in and properly applies modern fire suppression tactics, methods, and procedures at training drills and emergency Incidents. Projects a positive attitude and image to the client as a fire service professional to meet the client’s needs. Works effectively in following policies and procedures. Why Choose Rural Metro? As a national leader in private fire protection services, Rural Metro Fire is one of Global Medical Response’s (GMR) family of solutions.
