Senior Collateral Specialist - Asset Based Lending (ABL)

What you'll do:
The Senior Collateral Specialist is responsible for supporting the asset based lending teams which includes effectively and efficiently monitoring the underlying collateral supporting the outstanding balances on the asset based loan facilities. The Senior Collateral Specialist will also mentor new collateral specialists.

What we are looking for:
  • Analyzes and assesses collateral information to support Relationship Managers in determining risk involved in lending money to customers.
  • Processes client funding requests, including data uploads, reviews or backup documentation, collateral verification, debtor qualifications, funding submission for Relationship Manager approval.
  • Review and verify clients borrowing base reports timely, update clients borrowing availability on system as well as notifying Relationship Managers, Credit officers and / or clients of any issues.
  • Promptly informs lenders and clients of funding issues and assists in resolution.
  • Supports Relationship Managers and works with clients to manage day to day collateral routines including paydowns, cash collection activities, disbursements and collateral reporting.
  • Works directly with clients to resolve compliance issues and operational inquiries.
  • Monitors collateral status and submits management reports timely to ensure compliance with Bank regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


What you need to have:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred; High school diploma or GED required along with 4+ years related experience in commercial banking preferably working with loan support.
  • Excellent and effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Understanding financial analysis including a solid level understanding of excel spreadsheets and formulas
  • Attention to detail with ability to accurately complete data entry related tasks
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work with minimal or no supervision while performing duties
