The Opportunity with McKinstry

McKinstry is looking to add a Senior Construction Project Engineer to our New Construction division in Spokane.  You will be joining an established and diverse team where you will be able to make an immediate impact.   • You will assist with the Request for Proposal (RFP) and procurement process along with tracking current and future jobs, reviewing contracts and drawings and specifications.
  • You will coordinate equipment procurement with our purchasing department and outside vendors.
  • You will be scheduling, developing the of scope of work with subcontractors, and assisting in the preparation of monthly financial reporting.
  • You will communicate with general contractors, architects, engineers, and owners.
  • You will work closely with our project management team and respond to questions raised by superintendents and field workers on a daily basis.
  • You will work with the project team to solve problems and will gain hands-on experience in the field.
  • You will create and respond to requests for information (RFI).
  • You will develop, process, and track equipment, materials, and informational submittals.
  • You will create site-specific work plans and create operations and maintenance manuals for our clients.
  • You will process change orders, create billing breakdowns, and conduct quantify take-off and estimates.

What You Need to Succeed at McKinstry:

  • BA/BS degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Facilities Management or comparable degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Three (3) years of experience in engineering, project management or construction is required
  • Experience working for a General Contractor or Major Mechanical Subcontractor preferred
  • Proficient with scheduling software: Microsoft Project, Primavera and/or Suretrak preferred
  • Completed OSHA 30 class is required

The pay range for this position is $32.84 - $49.54 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Base pay information is based on market location. A bonus may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
