Electrical Engineer II

What you will doServe as technical expert within Power Electronics Department that is responsible to design, test, and maintain power electronics products and systems for Johnson Controls’ chiller applications.Determine the best techniques, procedures and/or theories as they apply to the development of power electronics products and systems. Create compliance procedures for the development of electrical/electronic circuitry designs. Define and interpret design specifications; design electrical/electronic circuitry to meet specified requirements; and analyzes product design requirements and recommend solutions. Prepare and coordinates the release of documentation to support component design and manufacturing. Participate in all aspects of preliminary design and systems architecture, and conducts analysis of the cost impacts of proposed modifications, upgrades, and new implementations of application software. Conduct feasibility studies and systems analysis for new applications or major modifications of existing systems. Work with other engineers, designers, and technicians on specific work assignments.Forecast and schedule work activities, and defines processes for repetitive tasks.Act as the technical lead for troubleshooting field and factory issues on the range of power electronics products and systems on Johnson Controls’ chillers.Travel to visit customers, Johnson Controls’ factories, vendors, and/or professional conferences as business needs How you will do itComply with Johnson Controls’ Code of Ethics and policiesEffectively utilize your knowledge, skills, and Johnson Controls’ toolsCollaborate with global and cross-functional teamsIs open minded to receive and offer constructive feedbacksIs flexible to support customers and businessOpen to hybrid work out of our New Freedom PA facilityAbility to work in a fast-paced, schedule-driven, team-oriented environmentAbility to travel 10% of their time domestic or international What we look forRequiredMaster degree on Electrical Engineering with specialization on Power Electronics3-6 years of experience in the field of power electronics or electrical engineering PreferredPh.D. degree with focus in Power ElectronicsStrong experience on power electronics controlsStrong experience on IGBT based invertersStrong experience on advanced tools such as Matlab/Simulink, OPAL-RT, Saber#LI-Onsite#LI-SI1
