Within our 230-person team located in Waverly, NY, Leprino seeking a highly qualified Plant Purchasing Supervisor on our plant Maintenance Management team to continue moving our organization to even larger levels of continuous improvement, reliability, and production efficiencies. At Leprino Foods, starting compensation for this role typically ranges between $77,000 and $92,000. This position has an annual target bonus of 10%. Responsibilities:
Supervise and guide the purchasing of maintenance parts, stock, and non-stock items to ensure timely supply and efficient operations.
Partner with vendors to secure quality materials at competitive prices, benefiting plant processes and company goals.
Build strong relationships across teams by mentoring employees and fostering collaboration, engagement, and skill development.
Develop and implement employee training programs to ensure compliance with company policies and enhance productivity.
Lead the team in minimizing costs through efficient freight management and strategic procurement practices.
Negotiate payment terms for non-national items, ensuring favorable outcomes for Leprino Foods.
Support continuous improvement by refining processes to enhance plant efficiency, product quality, and cost savings.
Monitor inventory levels and procurement activities to align with production needs and reduce unit pricing.
Act as a trusted advisor to employees by addressing their questions and promoting a positive work environment.
Collaborate with plant and corporate teams to establish product and freight standards for materials.
You Have At Least (Required Qualifications):
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Economics, or a related field OR comparable work experience.
5+ years of experience in purchasing or inventory management.
1+ year of experience leading, mentoring, or delegating work to others.
We Hope You Also Have (Preferred Qualifications):
A master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field.
Experience in dairy or cheese manufacturing.
Proven leadership experience managing supervisors.
