Make history with us.Location: SalemDepartment:• Maintenance• Job Code: OR0700-B• Comp Grade: HPSV1JOB TITLE: Supervising Electrician HourlyWORKDAY LEVEL: HPSV1BASE RATE PER HOUR: $100SHIFT: Days# OF OPENINGS: 1HoursTBD/ part-timeJOB SUMMARY/ JOB DUTIES:The Supervising Electrician/Electrical Controls Technician is responsible for maintaining existing electrical system infrastructure to ensure a safe electrical environment is provided for all employees, contractors, etc. The person in this role provides electrical controls planning, design and development for Capital Investment projects per the Capital Plan; evaluates and recommends electrical control/software improvements to existing processes and facilities to improve Quality, Reliability, Productivity, and Safety; provides technical assistance when needed for existing equipment and participates in selecting contractors, purchasing equipment, and materials as needed. The Supervising Electrician/Electrical Controls Technician also supports continuous improvement, production strategies, and plant reliability strategies..• Understands and adheres to governmental regulatory programs and policies. These may include but are not limited to National Electrical Code, Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Uniform Building Code (UBC), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70, National Electric Code, NFPA 70B Electrical Maintenance, NFPA 70E Arc Flash Electrical Safety, NFPA 79 Electrical Standard For Industrial Machinery and local government environmental agency policies.• Practices and complies with all plant and maintenance department safety procedures, including but not limited to: Lock-Out - Tag-Out; Arc Flash and Hot Work Permits.• Understands the concept of Permit Required Confined Spaces and assists with proper alternate entry of re-classified confined spaces when necessary.• Follows all applicable good manufacturing practices (GMP's) for area assigned.• Maintains and uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) in accordance with OSHA, food handling before and after equipment inspection and repair activities.• Attends classes, seminars, and in-house training as needed to maintain skill level with changes in the industry.• Makes improvements and suggestions to optimize maintenance program.• Executes and document planned and unplanned work findings and data during shift via computerized maintenance management system (CMMS). Execution and resolution of equipment breakdowns/repairs.• Support plant with technical leadership and facilitation of Root Cause Analysis, Focused Improvement, FMEA (Modes Effects Analysis), VSM (Value Stream Mapping) and Kaizen.• Utilizes predictive maintenance technologies to identify failures and takes correct follow-up actions. Predictive maintenance technologies include ultrasound, thermal imaging, Electrical and current analysis.• Documents the cause of the failure and works with maintenance team, planner, supervisor, or other team members to take action to prevent a reoccurrence of the failure.• Understands and interprets technical documents and diagrams which include but are not limited to: factory manuals, blueprints, schematics, Single Line Electrical Drawings, mechanical and electrical equipment schematics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID's), and etc.• Performs basic functions such as running conduit and piping to specifications.• Capable of calibrate and set-up instrumentation.• Applies industry knowledge to identify aging and obsolete automation hardware.• Provides required oversight for journeyman electrician apprentices and is responsible for the work being performed, to ensure safety and training in all phases of the work.• Understands and uses code for troubleshooting Programmable Logic Controller (PLC's), Human Machine Interface (HMI's), Variable Frequency Drive (VFD's) and etc.• Support plants and corporate functions with strategic capital investment using all TPM based Early Management Tools focused on Electrical Controls Support to Project Engineering.• Execute Controls focused Projects and Support Project Managers with controls expertise using TPM based Early Management Tools including Life-cycle Costing, Design for Reliability and Operability, Autonomous and Specialized Maintenance and Vertical Start Up.• Develop plan for equipment Controls FATs (Factory Acceptance Testing). Expected to lead plant personnel through Controls FAT process from concept to production.• Participate in the development of Start Up planning with plant personnel to identify all additional labor requirements, scrap produced and start up inefficiencies.• Ensure that all projects are completed with proper technical documentation, training, OPLs (One Point Lessons), spare parts lists and support contacts based on FMEA and plant input. Develop and use standard project turnover and close out check lists.• Hold all vendors and contractors accountable to all fiduciary commitments and GMP and safety practices.• Set performance guarantee criteria for all suppliers and vendors supplying equipment and solutions. Accountable for ensuring supplier and vendor commitments are fully met.• Complete all projects on time, within budget and within scope and stated results.• Develop project timelines and milestones around plant production commitments to ensure project completion. Utilize Gantt charts or the like to communicate project timelines and progress.• Support the definition of Corporate Controls Standards and standardize where possible on vendors and equipment components to minimize costs, training and spare parts.• Communicate effectively both internally and with all customers.• Follow all applicable financial policies in the project management process.• Expected to be a lifelong learner. Must ensure personal skill sets not only stay fresh but are improving as technology changes.• May perform other duties as required.EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:High School Diploma or GED; a minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing facility (Food & Beverage preferred) performing electrical maintenance duties, inspections, troubleshooting and repairs required.Preferred Qualifications: Some college or formal technical school education with demonstrated aptitude and skills in electrical maintenance and troubleshooting. Experience with mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, steam and chiller applications. 4+ years of experience as an Industrial maintenance electrician.LICENSES/REGISTRATIONS REQUIRED:Active Oregon State General Supervising Electrician (S) or Limited Supervising Electrician (PS) License RequiredOTHER MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS NEEDEDAbility to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
