The Nutrition Services Aide for retail and cafe is responsible for performing a wide range of duties within the foodservice department, which may include: Great customer service, Working and serving behind a Deli station, Pizza Station and Grill, Prepare simple items for salad bar along with stocking and cleaning cafe and work stations.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates Self-serve register
  • Stocking and re-stocking of product and goods.
  • Daily prepping, chopping, slicing and set up of food items for salad bar station.
  • Assists in grill cook responsibilities when needed.
  • Daily set up of deli food items for deli station.
  • Fills in Temperature logs
  • Posts daily menu.
  • Labels food items on glass.
  • Ensures that required sanitary levels are maintained throughout the food preparation process by record keeping of HAACP logs and sanitation cleaning schedule.
  • Ensures that all cooking equipment and utensils are inspected and maintained for cleanliness and proper operation.

PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS: 

Walking for up to 7 hours, 30 minutes at a time; sitting for up to 1 hour at a time and standing up to 1 ½ hours for 30 minutes at a time.  Frequently uses handling and occasionally twisting/turning, lifting (1-50 lb.), carrying (1-50 lb.), pushing (1-50 lb.), and pulling (1-50 lb.).  When performing essential functions, occasionally involves with stooping/bending, climbing, reaching above shoulder level.  Employee must have the ability to hear normal conversation, have general vision, far vision, and peripheral vision.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalency preferred.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

Customer service and/or food service experience preferred, but not necessary. On job training will be provided.
