As a Principal Information Security Engineer your responsibilities include administration, maintenance, architecture, and engineering related to on-premise and cloud security solutions. This includes, direct support, technical ownership, and leading others with regards to the platforms. Additional responsibilities as needed, but may include security posture review and analysis, security vulnerability scanning, monitoring and alerting development and tooling, and security incident response. You’ll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. Primary Responsibilities: Some on-call and irregular work hours may be required Support team leads and Subject Matter Expert (SME) for approaches, procedures, and implementation of perimeter firewalls Troubleshoot issues in highly complex, technical situations within an enterprise organization Transition core entities from hardware/data centers to Optum supported technology in cloud Develop perimeter security / firewall architecture to protect cloud and on-prem assets Create infrastructure as code in support of newly entities transition to cloud Identify and implement workload optimization in AWS, Azure and GCP Participate in incident response for supported cloud projects Train and educate team members to become self-sufficient in public cloud You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: Undergraduate degree or 6 years of networking, security, or cloud development experience 4 years of experience with cloud or on-prem deployments of next gen/firewall (ex. Palo Alto) 2 years of experience with cloud architecture and networking 1 years or experience in cloud development, infrastructure as code and automation/deployment Preferred Qualifications: Cloud Certifications (AWS, Azure, GCP), CCSP Terraform Certification Palo Alto Certifications CISSP Proven work experience as a cloud developer, architect, or systems administrator Proven solid planning and problem-solving skills Ability to troubleshoot in highly complex, technical situations within a matrixed organization All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Washington, or Washington, D.C. Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $104,700 to $190,400 annually. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
