We want your knowledge and expertiseJob Summary and QualificationsThe Registered Nurse demonstrates critical thinking skills, scientific judgment, and leadership in planning for the care of the patient. The Registered Nurse is responsible and accountable for the planning, directing, and provision of nursing care to patients in accordance with the N.H. Nurse Practice Act, recognized nursing techniques, and both clinical and administrative policies. The Registered Nurse functions in the role of Registered Nurse First Assistant after meeting credentialing criteria and carries out functions that will assist the surgeon in performing a safe operation with optimal results for the patient. The RNFA practices under the supervision of the surgeon during the first assisting phase of the intraoperative role. The RNFA does not function concurrently as a scrub/circulator during the RNFA component of surgical patient care. The RNFA also functions when not first assisting in the RN perioperative role.You must possess In-depth knowledge of surgical operation procedures, includingda Vinci Robot (SI), orthopedic, neuro, and general surgeryYou will assess patient’s condition and monitor vitals, providing general nursing care before and after surgery You will ensure that the Operating Room is prepared with all necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipmentYou will keep the operating room sterilizedYou will pass medical instruments to the surgeons during operationIn this role, you will review charts for completeness, in accordance with documentation protocols prior to and after the surgical procedureCommunicate effectively with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care REQUIREMENTSAdvanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start dateBasic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start datePALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start dateRegistered NurseAssociate DegreeCertified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA), or Certified First Assistant, or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFA)Situated in Portsmouth, NH, Portsmouth Regional Hospital is a premier 234-bed acute care facility that offers exceptional healthcare services to the Seacoast region of Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire. This hospital is the sole ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center on the Seacoast of New Hampshire, making it an essential resource for the community. It boasts the region's only comprehensive heart and vascular program, along with 24/7 comprehensive neurosurgical and stroke clot retrieval programs for both hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes. Portsmouth Regional Hospital is owned by HCA Healthcare, a respected healthcare provider that runs three hospitals, an ambulatory surgery center, two freestanding emergency rooms, an urgent care center, and 46 physician practices in New Hampshire.
