As a Sr Project Engineer, you'll assist in developing and implementing the strategy for multiple integrated plans for product development including coordinating activities throughout the product lifecycle from design concept phase to release. You will monitor the product/program/project from initiation through delivery, interfacing with external customers or field-based employees on technical matters, as needed. You'll also review, manage, proactively challenge, and control status of project programs and budgets, manage schedules and prepare status reports, and guide and lead teams in achieving the goals of the program including issue identification, resolution and contingency planning.The ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance), Aviation, and Security (IAS) business area is a leader in ISR and aviation, it is a leading prime manned and unmanned aircraft systems integrator for innovative, high-performance ISR and aviation systems. IAS tailors solutions to customer cost, performance, and schedule requirements and designs to consistently exceed expectations – with an unrivaled record of on time and on (or under) budget deliveries. https://www.sncorp.com/company/business-areas/The Sr. Liaison Engineering Manager will be responsible for the following activities on a large development program:Aircraft Test Activities:Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing complex aircraft test activities to establish system requirements.Assist in the collection, analyzing, and interpretation of test data to verify system performance and compliance with future design specifications.Collaborate with test engineers, pilots, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and thorough testing proceduresDesign Coordination:Act as the primary liaison between the onsite team and offsite design engineering teamFacilitate clear and effective communication to ensure alignment on design objectives, specifications, and project timelinesCoordinate the integration of new design efforts into the existing aircraft systems, ensuring compatibility and functionalityTechnical Interface:Serve as the primary technical interface between the onsite engineering team and other departments, including manufacturing, quality assurance, and supply chainEnsure that all stakeholders are informed of project progress and any issues that may ariseIdentify and resolve technical issues that arise during testing and design integration processesWork closely with cross functional teams to troubleshoot and implement solutionsDocumentation and Reporting:Assist in the creation of comprehensive technical documentation, including test plans, test reports, technical specifications, and design documentationMaintain accurate records of all test and design coordination activities and findings Compliance and Standards:Ensure all test and design coordination activities comply with relevant program contractual requirements.Maintain awareness of intellectual property considerations and ensure all activities respect IP laws.Support coordination for on aircraft certification work scope – including military certification and FAA certification Must-haves:Bachelor's of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field of study and typically 12 or more years of relevant technical experienceAdvanced knowledge of engineering principles and practiceExtensive experience with Computer Aided Engineering tools, analysis and simulationAbility to work in multi-disciplinary design and development teamsMinimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering role, with a focus on aircraft systems, testing, and design coordination.Proven experience working in a liaison role or similar, coordinating between multiple departments or teams to include troubleshooting, dispositioning tags, and non-compliancesStrong understanding of aircraft systems, testing procedures, and design principles.The ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance is requiredPreferred:Typically 6-8 years of relevant leadership and/or technical management experienceMaster’s degree in a relevant engineering disciplineExperience leading a multi-disciplinary design and development team and communicating with program management and customersExperience with test equipment and instrumentation used in aircraft testing.Familiarization with FAA certification (conformity, compliance documentation, etc)Familiarity with preparation and development of project estimates, technical proposals, and program cost and schedule managementPast history of leading baseline definition and maturation in a complex development setting, including the use of highly integrated trade studies and analysis of alternativeAbility to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics, parts lists, specifications, instructions, and test procedureBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustrySNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.SNC offers a generous benefit package, including medical, dental, and vision plans, 401(k) with 150% match up to 6%, life insurance, 3 weeks paid time off, tuition reimbursement, and more.IMPORTANT NOTICE:This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
