General Purpose:Prepare, season, and cook a wide range of foods, which may include soups, salads, entrees, and desserts.   Job Duties and Responsibilities:Follow recipes, controls, portion, and presentation specifications set by The CreameryEnsure the freshness of food and ingredientsWeigh, measure, and mix ingredients according to recipesBake, grill, or fry meats, fish, vegetables, and other foodsBoil and steam meats, fish, vegetables, and other foodsArrange, garnish, and sometimes serve foodClean work areas, equipment, utensils, and dishesCook, handle, and store food or ingredientsFollow all safety and sanitation procedures when handling food and working with kitchen equipmentThe requirements herein are intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed by employee, but is not a complete list of responsibilities, duties, and skills required. Other duties may be assigned as required. Minimum Requirements:Education and ExperienceTraining related to culinary field and/or 1+ years of related work experience Certification and/or License – Culinary and food safety certifications preferred Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesPassion for food and culinary skillsAble to understand orders and follow recipes to prepare dishes correctlyKnowledge of food, quality, production, sanitation, presentation, and food cost controlCustomer service skills, including the ability handle challenging or conflict situations with tact and professionalismBasic troubleshooting skills for the repair and maintenance of commercial kitchen equipmentAttention to detail and able to multi-taskProblem solving skillsAble to communicate clearly and effectivelyMust be able to read, write and speak English
