An international agricultural products and services company, we handle agricultural commodities and have a diverse portfolio of products and businesses.SummaryThe salary range for this position is $73,000 - $109,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.In addition to the base salary, Perdue offers a competitive benefits package, including medical/Rx, 401(k) with employer match after 1 year, critical illness, accident insurance, dental, vison, life insurance, optional group life insurance, short-term and long-term disability protection, flexible spending accounts and paid time off.The Sr. Cost Accountant will perform the accounting activities for various Agribusiness business units per GAAP and corporate accounting policies. This includes preparation of timely and accurate financial statements, operational reporting, operations analysis, monthly balance sheet reconciliations, and preparation of other business requests for information.Principal and Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesDevelop an understanding of Agribusiness business activities and systems to include contract entry and pricing; hedging; futures; ticket entry and application; void processing, ingredient, and freight payments; invoicing and accounts receivable; and other similar items. Develop an understanding of priced position (cash) activities (contracts and inventory) and their relationship to futures accounting procedures. Reconcile accounts and prepare daily/ weekly/ monthly position reports for areas of responsibility, to include reconciliation of cash activity to futures activities, preparation, and documentation of month end inventory market values. To review and report inventory balances and values to management as required.Develop and maintain proper accounting procedures and controls for Agribusiness locations in accordance with GAAP and company accounting policies. To review and maintain records and documents for proper SOX controls. Strive to achieve

methods in regard to daily/ weekly/ monthly accountabilities.In accordance with the company accounting calendar, complete monthly closing activities for assigned areas of responsibility. Duties to include inventory review and analysis, sales reconciliations, freight costs review and analysis, futures review and reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations, financial and operational reporting, and various analysis.Prepare monthly management reports, variance analyses, and other ad hoc report request from management.Prepare weekly profit estimates and operating statistics as required. This includes preparation of weekly reconciliations for volumes, sales, purchases, freight, inventory, and other items as needed.Develop working relationships with various teams. This will include sales, production, PAB management, and corporate groups to name a few.Minimum EducationBS/BA degree (Accounting or Accounting concentration)Experience Requirements3-5 years in similar accounting positionStrong math and analytical skills.Strong oral and written communications skillsKnowledge of GAAPKnowledge of standard accounting software applications.CPA/ CMA designation preferredEnvironmental Factors and Physical RequirementsPosition is mostly sedentary but may require occasional moving to other offices or buildings.May need to move light equipment or supplies from one place to another.
