Swine Veterinarian

We're Hiring a Swine Veterinarian for our Indiana Region. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the Animal Health and Welfare activities and veterinary support of our sow system farrow-to-finish. Enjoy our progressive operations including electronic sow feeding (ESF), top-notch biosecurity practices and open pen gestation. You will report to the Vice President of IN/NC Hog Production and will be a vital Team Member in our daily operations, managing and providing oversight of the herd health programs.Develop and implement health improvement plans for Sow, Nursery and Finish sitesLead and monitor Sow, Nursery and Finishing medication and vaccination programsPerform direct observations of animals on farm to monitor health status and animal well beingOrder and monitor all region's diagnosticsMonitor budget and forecast results monthlyManage and maintain pharmaceutical company relationshipsBuild and upload training modulesReview and approve animal health and care SOPsCoordinate and facilitate Bio-security activitiesBudget and forecast medications, vaccinations, animal welfare and veterinarian services quarterlyProvide hands-on training to production team on health and welfare programsParticipate and represent Company in industry animal care groupsThis Role is for You if:  You have a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent with the ability to attain veterinary licenses in the states of business.You have the ability to: set, pursue and attain achievable goals, regardless of obstacles or circumstanceYou have the ability to: analyze all aspects of a situation to gain thorough insight to make decisions; identify and evaluate resources; apply problem solving abilities; be objective and fairly evaluate the different aspects of a situation.You are able to establish a process for activities that lead to the implementation of systems, procedures or outcomes.You are available for overnight travel 1 week a month.You have skills to maneuver and utilize the functions of Microsoft Access, Word, PowerPoint and ExcelYou are multi-task oriented and a team player.You understand that the Company is a producer of high quality pork and be supportive of the mission of raising swine for meatYou are committed to meeting and exceeding industry standards in care and welfare of our animals.
