Our client, a well established and very high qualityFood Manufacturing Company, is again growing and now seeking a talented and well experienced Director, Quality Systems as an addition to staff:Job Title: Director, Quality SystemsDepartment: QualityReports to: Plant Directors; VP, Operations/COO; OwnershipDirect Reports: Quality Managers; Quality Supervisors; Quality Admins; Quality TechsOverview:The position ensures successful management of Food Safety, Quality Assurance and Quality Control Systems by providing leadership through strong knowledge and experience of Food Safety/Quality Systems including best practices, coaching, people, and decision-making skills. Foster a culture of food safety, quality and 'Product Excellence' across three manufacturing facilities.Presence Expectations:Presence in the Facility, spanning 5 workdays per week. On the Production Floor
Presence routinely, including, but not limited to external/internal audits; product trials; initial product commercialization runs; sanitation days. On the Road

requirements are always met while continuously building a positive relationship with our customers and sales team.Oversee the Crisis management policy and leads the team in any crisis that may arise.Responsible for overall adherence to Food Legislation regulations, and is the primary liaison with customers and government bodiesResponsible to continuously develop and monitor the following programs (prerequisites) to ensure they are articulated and shared with the leadership team, robustly managed, and have appropriate KPIs reported at weekly Leadership meetings, and monthly on the Quality scorecard:Supplier compliance, working closing with Supply chain and vendors to ensure incoming materials/ingredients are within spec complianceEnvironmental program(s) ensuring they meet FSMA and customer requirements, have proper risk assessments completedHold and Release program for all product and raw material hold & releases. (risk assessment process, Sampling and evaluation program)Corrective and Preventative Action (CAPA) process is effective, and the proper tools are used to ensure a true RCA.Compliance to validation, and verification activities.Manages customer complaints and trends reports to management on a weekly basis finding as part of KPIs.Analyze customer complaints, finished products hold trends, out of spec testing parameters and work with plants food safety and Quality teams for the KPI improvement. Share best practices with the plant network.Manage and perform internal audit program with internal audit team, participate audits and ensure that internal audits are successfully completed on a timely basis and effective CAPA plan implemented.Responsible for the effective implementation and adherence to the Recall and Traceability Program.Lead and continuously improve all food defense plans, and food fraud program.Lead and challenge the allergen management program.Oversee and updates the initial food safety training program and annual refresher. Audits Employee Training Matrix for compliance, completeness and accuracy.Oversee all water and air supply documentation are up to date and works closely with the maintenance department ensuring program is on a preventative maintenance program for all facilities.Oversee the Construction of Premises and Equipment programs are up to date and meets all regulations.Oversee the Pest Control program working with Sanitation and third-party pest control company to ensure compliance, monitoring and preventive/corrective actions.Manage all quality budgets, projections, accruals and variances for each of the facilities, including capital quality expenditure requests and accounts payable activities as related to Quality.Manage GMP program, ensuring programs are running to protect the brand and its employees.Oversee compliance of receiving, storage and handling and shipping practices.Manage foreign material program, including but not limited to screens, locked ports, metal detectors (CCP), X-ray (CCP).Ensure programs used to report quality data (Safety Chain) are capable of the collection, management and reporting of quality data. This includes the following,SPC chartingProduct specificationsForms uploaded into the system, daily operational checks, line checks, qualitative checks and all quality related forms such as Monthly Glass & Plastic inspections, GMP checks, Temperature checks, etc.Ensure compliance to weekly conformance spec conformance per line.As an integral partner for the sanitation team to ensure the Sanitation Programs are running to protect the brand and its employees.Master Sanitation Program activities (Daily, Weekly, Bi-weekly, Monthly, Quarterly, Semi-annually, Annually).ATP Testing.Environmental Testing.Reviews all wet, dry and allergen cleaning practices ensuring compliance to procedure and program.Oversee compliance to the Organic, Non-GMO and OU Kosher programADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES:Provide support and assistance to Senior ManagementBackup to Quality ManagersPerform all non-management job functions in the event of an emergency or when a lack of available human resources would create losses for the companyMonitors, upholds, and enforces company policy and standards when present in the facilitySupport the management team by being present for meetings and providing insight to upper management when there are problems in the operation_____________________________________________________________________________QUALIFICATIONSCollege educated, though no specification as to major.Minimum 15 years of experience working within the Food Industry._____________________________________________________________________________COMPENSATION$165K to $200K Base Annual Salary, pending QualificationsUpwards of 20% Incentives based on mutually agreed Goals and TimelinesIf applicable, Re-Location Expenses plus company provision of upwards of 6 months Temporary Housing.Medical, 401K Programs20 PTO Days annuallyMajor HolidaysThis is a new position with the company and a growth opportunity.You must be a Permanent Resident of the USA or have a Valid Green Card to be considered.Relocation assistance is available domestically.Due to the large volume of resumes received, we regret that we can only respond to those who meet the requirements.
