As a Senior Software Engineer, you will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of software engineers, network engineers, and systems engineers to architect, develop, deploy, and sustain highly scalable and secure software solutions. These solutions will empower developers to create exceptional customer experiences across diverse platforms and services.

You will work closely with Product Managers, Engineers, and stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver robust, high-quality solutions with a strong emphasis on performance optimization, security enhancements, and scalability. Your role will be pivotal in the development and implementation of API Gateway solutions.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and secure APIs that enable seamless integration across various platforms and services.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, API Product Managers, and other Engineers to define API requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Lead the development and implementation of API Gateway solutions to enhance the performance, security, and scalability of our API ecosystem.
  • Implement best practices for API security, including authentication, authorization, and encryption.
  • Optimize API performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure a high level of reliability and availability.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of our API development processes and tools.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.
  • Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and architecture planning to ensure the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
  • Engage in developer experience research and data analysis to inform API design and implementation decisions.
  • Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, and apply this knowledge to drive innovation and improve our API capabilities.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders, providing technical expertise and support as needed.
  • Be available to support long hours or weekend work during production incidents to ensure rapid resolution and minimal impact on service availability.


Education:
  • Bachelor's Degree: Computer Science Or Engineering (Required)


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in software development, with a focus on API development and integration.
  • Advanced understanding of API Management, Gateway, and Authorization and Access Management.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
  • Experience with API design and development, including GraphQL, gRPC, RESTful APIs, and other integration protocols.
  • Strong knowledge of API security practices and standards, including OAuth, JWT, and OpenID Connect.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and infrastructure as code.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies and project management tools.

Base Pay Range: $108,200 - $195,300

Corporate Bonus Target: 15%

The pay range above is the general base pay range for a successful candidate in the role. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on various factors, such as work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay will vary within this range.

At T-Mobile, employees in regular, non-temporary roles are eligible for an annual bonus or periodic sales incentive or bonus, based on their role. Most Corporate employees are eligible for a year-end bonus based on company and/or individual performance and which is set at a percentage of the employee's eligible earnings in the prior year.
