The Construction Foreman will work closely with the site superintendent and project management team, participate in constructability reviews, manage day-to-day project tasks during construction phases, and assist in project documentation.

The successful candidate will plan, coordinate, and supervise field operations of ski lift and other ropeway projects. They will provide technical direction and will be responsible for safety, costs, productivity, profitability, and overall quality of the work (including self-performed work). We are looking for self-motivated, driven construction professionals with excellent planning and leadership skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct daily safety meetings and prioritize safety compliance.
  • Plan and prepare labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors in advance.
  • Set and communicate daily production goals for the crew.
  • Demonstrate a sense of urgency and problem-solving in case of issues.
  • Record employees' daily work hours and document work progress.
  • Prioritize meeting all deadlines, including projections and schedules.
  • Seek help when needed and avoid taking on excessive responsibilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Collaborates with other staff to maintain scheduled progress and provide updates as necessary to superintendent/PM
  • Coordinates deliveries and manages the staging area, deliveries and unloading of shipped parts and equipment in an organized manner
  • Regularly inspects deliveries for completeness and timeliness
  • Collaborates with engineers, management and other pertinent stakeholders to ensure specifications and other regulations are met.
  • Addresses any safety violations or other deficiencies.
  • Acts as a skilled backup to the superintendent of the project and monitors compliance with project requirements.
  • Coordinates the means and methods, manpower, equipment, and material resources required to accomplish goals.
  • Develops and manages the construction plan with the PM for the successful execution of the work.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of proven experience as a Foreman in the construction industry required. Experience with ski lift construction or other on mountain construction projects strongly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead in stressful situations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, understand, and execute blueprints, drawings, specifications and plans.
  • Thorough understanding of quality building practices.
  • Ability to quickly identify problems and efficiently solve them.
  • Valid Drivers License and good driving record
  • Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
  • Intermediate/advanced computer skills and familiarity with construction applications
  • Able to work 60-hour weeks during peak construction season
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree or higher in Engineering, Construction, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of construction in alpine conditions, ski industry, or material transport
  • OSHA 30 certification

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the construction site in all types of weather.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be comfortable working at heights up to 80
  • Ability to climb ladders, navigate uneven ground, and work in mountainous areas
